A frisbee dog in the making...

Cassie is now the youngest Prechter. She is about 7 months old and is the cutest little dog! We took her on walks, on runs, played basketball with her and she relentlessly chased the frisbee up and down the orchard! One morning we looked up to her pen to see her standing at the door with her pink frisbee in her mouth waiting for someone to come out and play. I can't wait to have a puppy!!

Caught!

Post-Turkey eating Grandpa and Mia were caught napping in front of the fire place!

Grandpa Bob and Virginia flew out from Massachusetts on Tuesday and have been enjoying some of California's fine weather...and the wood stove cranked up to 350F!

Thanksgiving in Nevada City!

What's Thanksgiving without the fried turkey?! Becky and Robin cooked away in the kitchen while Michael and Terry enjoyed a few watching the turkey boil. QT with papa-inlaw!

On the menu: Fried Turkey, homemade whole cranberry sauce and gravy, Mashed Potatoes with Gouda and Chives, Sweet Potatoes with Toasted Coconut, the famous Green Bean Casserole, Fruited Dressing, and the traditional green and red Jello salads...not to mention a four berry pie, cranberry-apple pie, and pumpkin pie with ice cream for dessert!

Oooh my mouth is watering again for some more leftovers!

Skipping stones and visiting the Breznays

After a tasty breakfast we headed out to the beach to play in the tide, spy on some birds and skip some stones - look at their form!!! Longest skip...5... apparently inhibited by the waves.

Next, we drove out to San Luis Obispo to visit the Breznays, get a tour of their new home and meet their puppy, Kiri. While living in North Carolina for two years we became good friends with George and Susan (and their old dog Pato). We enjoyed frequent trips to visit them up at the Macomb house in DC. A trip to Cold Stone was a necessity after lunch and finally a hike up the hill behind their house with Nick, Ergi and Kiri.

Such a nice and relaxing weekend filled with friends!!

Fun times at Morro Bay

Last weekend we met Peggy and Paul in Morro Bay. We ate the most delicious fish and chips from Giovanni's after waiting in line for 1.5 hours!!...well, Michael and Paul waited that long...Peggy and I went on a walk! That afternoon we went hiking to see a beautiful sunset over a picturesque bog! We finished the evening with some pizza and strawberries from the Farmers Market.
